Can I over deep condition?

Can you over deep condition your hair? Yes and No!!

Why yes?  You can over deep condition if you do not learn to balance your conditioners. The extremities of deep conditioning are protein and moisture overload.

Why not? I think that the hair cannot get enough goodness. If you have damaged hair deep conditioning would nurse it back to health while on the other hand if your hair is healthy deep conditioning would maintain its health. Yet, you need to strike a balance. Once there is balance you can never over deep condition.

Moisture overload is where the hair received more moisture than it needs. How can you detect this? If your hair is very mushy, limp and stretchy. The primary purpose of moisture is to provide our hair with elasticity so it does not snap and break when we manipulate our hair. Hair that is loaded with moisture would pop quite easily because it has too much elasticity. How can I you combat this? Well hair experts claims that moisture overload is easier to correct than protein overload. A protein treatment can help to restore the balance if your hair is moisture overload.

Since you know what moisture overload is surely you grasp the idea of how protein overload occurs. Protein overload features dry, brittle and hard hair which breaks when manipulated because of the lack of elasticity. As you may have figured, protein primary purpose is to strengthen the hair to withstand chemical manipulation especially. That is why it is said that relaxed hair need more protein than someone who is natural, because of the fact that chemicals depletes the natural protein  in our hair so we need to replenish it to keep our hair strong to prevent breakage. Even though relaxed hair requires more protein, we can still suffer from protein overload. It is harder to recover from such mishap so it is best to take preventative measures when it comes to protein. You should pay attention to the ingredients of your products in your regimen to ensure your stash is not solely protein base. Also when you do a protein treatment it is wise to follow up with a moisturizing treatment just to be on the safe side. You can also find conditioners that contain both protein and moisture for regular and safe use.
