Ways to boost your deep conditioning experience

The next time you whip out your deep conditioners why not take them up a notch or two. You might be wondering how can I possibly do this. Some if not all of these ingredients you are quite familiar with. They are in your kitchen pantry and your medicine cabinets. So please hear me out.
 
Our first ingredient is Honey. Yes, I said Honey. I bet you have that in your pantry. Right? Honey is jam packed with many benefits for our luscious tresses. So what exactly are the benefits? Multiple sources stated that Honey is;
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
  • a natural humectant: helps attract and retain moisture.  Because Honey is a humectant, it holds on to water molecules and this is how it retains the water.
  • anti-irritant: great for sensitive scalp and skin and hair loss.
 
  • smoothes the cuticle:  The hair feels softer and looks shinier when you add honey to your recipes.
 
Secondly, Carrier oils can also increase the health of your hair. What are Carrier oils? Carrier oils are also known as base oil or vegetable oil they are usually derived from seeds or nuts. For example Olive Oil, Coconut Oil ,Castor Oil and the list goes on. Carrier oils are said to;
  • Contain Ceramides
  • lock in moisture
  • contains vitamins A, E, D and potassium
  • aid with growth
  • add luster
  • prevents the scalp from drying by retaining moisture
Lastly, Essential Oils are said to be very potent which enhances one's hair health and deep conditioning experience.Oil is considered “essential” in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent, or essence, of the plant from which the oil is extracted. Essential oils are volatile, and are usually derived from the non-seed parts of the plants. Some Essential Oils are Peppermint Oil, Rosemary Oil, Tea tree Oil and the list does not end here. So Essentials oils are said to;
  •  stimulate blood flow to the root of the hair which ultimately leads to growth.
  • help to keep the scalp free of bacteria and fungal problems.
  • treat dry scalp, dandruff, lice, and under-active sebaceous glands.
